Putting it Together: Interim Guides

Over the last few weeks I’ve posted about:  IRC, Command Line, Github, Markdown.

All of which I am currently using to inform the organizing and updating of several parts of the LearnOSM website.

The project receiving the most attention now is the Interim Guide Project.

LearnOSM is a very robust site used and run by many volunteers from many countries.    Thus it is necessary for the site to be available in as many languages.  Translated pages may be available for some of the LearnOSM site pages but not for all.

My newest task as an intern is: using git inside the terminal to manipulate github, to provide LearnOSM’s global community of users with guides in their native language.

LearnOSM pages that are not translate are host to   an “interim guide”.  An interim guide is text that points to wherever the fullest version of the guide can found in any language.  Most often those languages are in French or English.
